Marcham Centre

the building of our community

Welcome to Marcham Centre

The community facilities, Marcham Centre, are situated in the heart of the village and includes the village hall, the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and the playing fields.

Please note the trustees have arranged a planned temporary closure of the hall building for hires between 11pm on 24th December and 5pm on Friday 6th January.

During this time, necessary re-decoration and maintenance work will be carried out. The MUGA will be open as usual for sport activities over that period. This will also be a welcome break for the volunteers who open and lock the building and for the team of two dozen volunteers who give up their time to provide the popular bar facility. We look forward to seeing you all again after the break. We have a longer-term need for volunteers for various tasks involved in running Marcham Centre and Marcham Community Group, the charity which operates the facilities. If you are interested, we would love to hear from you by email to admin@ marcham.org.

Marcham Centre is open up for a range of community activities.

The Bar is open indoors as well as outdoors. Opening hours:
Wednesday evenings - 7pm - 11pm
Friday afternoons/evenings 5pm - 11pm
Saturday afternoons/evenings 7pm - 9.301pm
Sunday Midday - 3pm.

Many Indoor Exercise classes and activities are now taking place, such as Zumba, Pilates, Clubbercise, Karate, Cubs and Hartbeeps (parents with babies/toddlers). [See Who Uses Marcham Centre]

The MUGA is open from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm for people playing sport or other physical activities or coaching. It is not available for social gatherings. If you are keen to play Tennis and be part of the new tennis Club contact Zoe 07452 944949

A variety of spaces to book

Plan

Large Hall

Large Hall

13.6m by 11m (150m2)
This is a large, well-lit, flexible space and will seat up to 150 people in audience mode. It can be used for theatre productions and concerts using a mountable stage. This is also great space for large celebrations and the equipment includes tables as well as chairs. There is access through two hatches to the fully-equipped kitchen.

Small Hall

Small Hall

11m by 7.7m (82m2)
The small hall can be used for exercise classes; meetings and lectures for local community groups; clubs such as guides and scouts; as well as for birthday parties (and could include a bouncy castle) and other family and community events.

Meeting Room

Meeting Room

The meeting room is 4.9m by 3.5m (18m2) and is equipped with a directors' table. It can be used for smaller meetings of up to 8 people, or larger meeting break-out space or one-to-one sessions.

Kitchen

Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, dishwasher, crockery and cutlery. If you wish to use these facilities, please book the kitchen as a room. Please note that if you book the kitchen you would have sole use of these facilities, but you would be expected to enable provision for supply of hot water/crockery to other hall users.

plus the Bar, Hub and the MUGA

Marcham Centre

The Hub is at the very heart of Marcham Centre. Enter the building and you arrive in The Hub. Then later if you make your way from the large Hall to the Bar and then the Small Hall too, you pass through the Hub on your way. The Kitchen gives onto it and the Meeting Room too. It is the home of Thirsty Café now government regulations allow.
